Atelier Sérgio Rebelo’s first completed hospitality building, Quinta de Adorigo Winery, wins top prizes in two 2025 WAF Award categories: Production, Energy & Logistics and Best Use of Timber. The project, also highly commended for the Best Use of Light, impressed juror for connecting interior and exterior spaces, using light effectively, and showing strong conceptual clarity.
The international design magazine’s December 2025 Entertaining Issue highlights how “this Portuguese winery looks like it grew from the landscape itself” and uses an eighth of the energy of a conventional winery.
In a recent interview about the site-specific design, architect Sérgio Rebelo said, “We studied many iterations until we found something that just seemed natural and as though it was always there.” Initiated in 2019 and completed in 2025, the 4200 m2 (45,000 ft2) Quinta de Adorigo Winery the first building completed as part of a multi-use winery estate, set for completion in December 2026.
