The project consists of the rehabilitation and extension of a building in the dynamic Rua da Escola Politécnica in Lisbon, in front of the National Museum of Natural History and Science. Aligned by the grand museum staircase, we find the Beco do Colégio dos Nobres, an old blind alley reactivated as an access to the back of building, turned into a public patium, given back to the city as an outdoor living space.  The intervention contemplates the extension of one floor, the overall reconfiguration of the rear façade, respecting the current alignments with the neighboring buildings, along with the restructuring of the rear area, currently occupied by multiple annexes, once belonging to the old shop in the ground floor.  In the rear façade of the two lower floors, the design recreates the configuration of the ground floor stonework of the façade in prefabricated precast concrete, pigmented with the color and texture of the Lioz stone, the traditional lime stone of the region of  Lisbon.
